Title Chase delicately poised after 2 Rounds

Posted on Updated on

The chase for the outright and class titles are delicately poised with the first 2 rounds of the 2016 CAMS, PGS Industries WAORC completed.

Following his thrilling win at the Carnarvon Motel, Pinjarra Engineering Carnarvon 360 Brad Cooper leads Round 1 winner Shane Elphinstone by just 2 points. Sitting in 3rd place outright is thr current WAORC outright champion Brett Smith has been very quick and consistent and sitting only 1 point behind Elphinstone is still lurking as a major threat to the Pro Buggies

In Pro Buggy class by virtue of having more higher placed section times Shane and Curt Elphinstone lead Brad Cooper and Aaron Smithson. Darren Agrela and Ryan Barton sit 3rd in class, but will be hoping for more reliability in the second half of the season

Prolite class is lead by Brett Smith with single seat competitors Wayne Holt, Andrew Sawyer and Bernard Holt trying to chase him down

Nathaniel Edwards leads Super 1650 from Aaron Dark but with only 60 points seperating the pair and 4 round to go ot is still all to play for.

In Extreme 2wd Darryl Hardman in his Desert Sweet Banana truck has a small advantage over Peter Doney but both will be wary of Greg Pickersgill who has been plagued with reliability issues in the first 2 rounds. Another who will be looking to upset the current order is Luke Worthington who missed Carnarvon as he converts his turbo powered truck to a V8 powerplant

Dirk Van Geest leads Ted Schultz and Round 2 winner Chris May in the Production 4wd class with Ben Armstrong and David Turner sitting back in 4th and ready to pounce should they slip up

Extreme 4wd is one of the most competitive fields in the 2016 CAMS, PGS Industries WAORC with Owen and Mitchell Davies leading the way from Russell Cullen and Daniel Fahey. Third place belongs to Leigh Cooper and Jade Armstrong but the points are incredibly tight

There are still 4 rounds left to run and with competitors able to drop their worst round it looks like the 2016 CAMS, PGS Industries Western Australian Off Road Racing Championship in the outright and class titles is going to go down to the wire!!!
