2017 Sporting Regulations

Posted on Updated on

The Sporting Regulations for the 2017 CAMS, Carnarvon Motel Western Australian Off Road Racing Championship have now been approved and can be found here

Whilst much of the document is the same as 2017, there have been some minor changes in order to continue to improve the sport. The Prolert system which was previously used to aid overtaking has now been replaced with UHF communication. All vehicles will be required to carry a UHF which is run to a hard wired power source and capable of transmitting and receiving during the race. This will be used as a tool for added safety and fairer overtaking, particularly in dusty conditions as well as to make gridding up vehicles a quicker and easier process. Reconnaissance is now compulsory for all competitors and there have been some minor changes to the start procedures with regards to competitors not being ready at their allotted start times

A document outlining preferred methods of communication can be found here. It is recommended that all competitors make themselves familiar with this prior to competing at their first event for the 2017 season
