After 3 of the 6 rounds of the 2017 CAMS Carnarvon Motel WAORC, Prolite competitor Jared Percival holds a slender lead at the top of the outright standings. With the Mid West Challenge, Three Springs and Kalgoorlie rounds remaining there is still a lot of racing to go and this years series is anything but over!
Percival leads on 56 points, just 4 ahead of Prolite rival Mal Yeardley in his #171 buggy. Colin Doney sits 3rd in his Extreme 2wd beetle with Brad Krepp and George Metaxas making up the top 5
In the class battles Mark Cramer, Harleigh Uren and Marcus Wells are locked in a dogfight for the Pro buggy class lead. Just 148 points separating the leading trio. Percival, Yeardley and Metaxas are the leading trio in Prolite buggy, whilst Daniel Allen has a solid lead in the Super 1650 class. Extreme 2wd looks to be a battle between Colin Doney and reigning champion Greg Pickersgill with a margin back to Hardman and Worthington in the chasing pack. Performance 2wd has unearthed some great young talent this year and WA Off Road Junior Development Program pilot Matt Beck holds a 116 point lead over current class champion Jordan Russell. In Production 4wd Graeme Bentink has his nose in front at the halfway mark, 70 points of the Baxter Racing entry of Steven Baxter. Brad Krepp leads the Extreme 4wd class, however behind him there is a big battle brewing between Mitchell Davies, Russekk Cullen, Mark Murray and Dylan James. In the Superlite B class Ashley Sudholz has a big advantage over the chasing Chris Unstead. The only Sportslite entry so far this season, Wayne Holt has the class lead with 3 races to go
With entries for Round 4, the Cochranes Transport Mid West Challenge now open, this championship is just about to kick into overdrive!
