2026 Season set to go!
The Christmas Ham has been eaten, the new years champagne drunk which can only mean its time for a new season of off road racing to get underway! For 2026 the championship calendar has had a small tweak to the dates and order, but the same 5 events we know and love are locked in and ready for some exciting racing

Round 1 will once again be the Perenjori Classic held over the Labour Day weekend as the first weekend of March. Perenjori has cemented its place as the season opener for several years now and the action is typically as hot on track as it is off track. In 2025 it was Adam Trewhella who dominated the event ahead of Pinner and Brindal, setting up what would be the start of another championship charge

Round 2 traditionally has been the Gascoyne Dash, but for 2026, this will be Bencubbin. Held on its familiar June long weekend date, Bencubbin will now sit as Round 2. Last year, Trewhella once again would take out the event ahead of a duo of SXS Pro competitors, this time Moss and Unstead locking out the podium.

Round 3 will be the Gascoyne Dash which has taken up a new date from 13th to 16th of August. This may throw up some unknowns as to how the weather at this new time of year will impact track conditions. The Dash in 2025 was won by, yep you guessed it, Adam Trewhella ahead of Carnarvon local Kristan Pinner and Mark Cramer in his Pro Buggy

Round 4 is set to be Three Springs, where we will be hoping that the weather gods can play nicely and give them just enough water to make the crops nice, but not enough that the event is rained out. Unfortunately this was the case in 2025, but this track and town always plays host to an epic event, so with a little luck on our side, Round 4 will be a banger again!

Round 5 is without doubt the jewel in the WAORC Crown as the Kalgoorlie Desert Race which also doubles as the final round of the AORC finishes off the year in a big way. For 2026 it will also mark the 10th KDR, so expect some fireworks when we hit the goldfields. Boston Morgan-Horan claimed maximum points over the 2 sections that made up the WAORC ahead of Travis Robinson and Jared Percival. With the event being a dual status and dual discipline (as bikes are run as well) event, KDR is always one of the biggest on the calendar
