Points chase heats up heading into Three Springs
With a pulsating Gascoyne Dash now completed, the WAORC sets its sights on the popular Three Springs event. Crews are set to tackle one of the most challenging and enjoyable tracks on the calendar with the championship hanging in the balance thanks to some of the many twist and turns at the previous round in the north west
Jared Percival claimed the victory to move himself up to 3rd outright in the championship. Percival held a strong position for most of the Gas Dash event, but it wasn’t until the final lap that Percival made the decisive move into the lead. Matt Dec sits in second outright after his Gas Dash event started with a roll on prologue. Dec worked his way back into the contest throughout the weekend, eventually claiming 6th outright and vital championship points. Still leading the Championship outright is Adam Trewhella. Trewhella did just about everything at Carnarvon, he got lost and was buried in the pack, charged his way back to the outright lead with a last section blitz before a flat tyre dropped him back to 3rd outright for the event
Through the classes, the leaders are Adam Trewhella in Pro Buggy with Prolite being lead by Stephen Ketteridge-Hall. Lee Marsh tops Sportslite whilst Pieter De Wit is the leading Super 1650. Moving from the buggy classes to the tin tops, Harleigh Uren tops Extreme 2wd with Steven Scott being the best Performance 2wd with young guns Brent Jones and Max Bradley leading the Production and Extreme 4wd classes respectively. Matt Dec holds the top spot in SXS Pro, whilst points in Round 1 for Jason Stone before he moved to Pro Buggy class leaves him as the top SXS Sport. Scott Bryce leads the points in the Extreme 4wd Buggy class
